Evolution teaches that because all life evolved by chance through the chance collision of atoms and molecules, what man is today he has always been. Sin, death, evil and good have always been a part of man’s existence. He is in no need of redemption. This is completely incompatible with the Book of Genesis which teaches that God created man in His image and according to His likeness which meant that the moral righteousness of God in the beginning ruled over man’s nature through his human spirit, that in the beginning there was no sin in the world. Because man’s spirit died, his link with God died, so did the means of sustaining man’s life both physically and spiritually die. This is why God warned Adam and Eve in Genesis 2:17: "but-from-the-tree-of the-knowledge-of good and-evil from-it you shall not eat, for in-the-day872, 3717 that you eat from-it dying, you-shall-die." The Apostle Paul tells us in 1 Timothy 6:14-16 that Jesus, God, "alone possesses immortality." Only as we join ourselves to Him do we then possess physical and spiritual immortality through Him, but not apart from Him, because only He posses immortality. When Adam and Eve sinned, they were severed from their source of immortality: Jesus. The end result was then, as it is now, that man and all of creation began the slow process of decay and death. Jesus reversed all this by abolishing the enemy death! through His death on the cross and thus providing us away back to him and back to life and immortality. The Apostle Paul wrote: "who abolished death, and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel" (2 Tim 1:10).

Genesis further teaches that when Adam and Eve sinned, their spirit died and man came into bondage to their soul, their intellect and feelings and their flesh, their appetites and desires. God’s plan never intended for man to be ruled over by his soul and flesh. This is not normal, but abnormal. Jesus tells us plainly that there is no life in the soul and flesh in itself to sustain itself or change itself (John 6:63). He tells us, "It is the Spirit who creates-life, the flesh profits nothing." God’s plan for man was always to be ruled over and sustained by Him by the Holy spirit through man’s human spirit. I explain this in great detail in the Chapters of this book titled, "The Creation, Constitution & Fall of Man," and "Jesus’ Full Salvation for Man."

Genesis teaches that man today is not normal, not what God created him to be, that evil, sin and death in the world are not normal. Again this is the meaning of Jesus’ death for man’s sin to redeem and deliver him from the effects of sin and death, and from the bondage to his soul and flesh. This is completely incompatible with the teaching of evolution. When you try to mix the teaching of evolution with the teaching of Genesis, you no longer know or understand why man is the way he is, why their is death, evil and destruction in the world. The teaching of Evolution leads to the conclusion that what man is he has always been. If man is normal and what he has always been then Jesus’ death for man’s sin has no meaning because man is in no need of redemption. The teaching of Genesis concerning man cannot be taken in any other way except literally which is that man is not normal, that sin, death and evil in the world are not normal, that it has not always been this way, that there was a time when sin, death and evil did not exist in the world. When you accept the literal historical teaching of the book of Genesis, then Jesus’ coming, death and resurrection for the redemption of man have total meaning and give the answer to the abnormal condition that man is in. Throw away the first three chapters of Book of Genesis and Jesus’ coming, death and resurrection for man’s redemption have no meaning because man is normal and in no need of redemption. You cannot mix Evolution with the Book of Genesis. They are completely diametrically opposed and incompatible with one another. Dr. Marvin L. Lubenow in his book Bones of Contention states that the Bible and science cannot be harmonized for the following reasons:

"The Bible claims to be truth in the absolute sense, including its statements about nature. On the other hand, philosophers of science are unanimous in recognizing that science does not—in fact, cannot—traffic in absolute truth. All scientific truth is relative. What strange twist of logic would cause us to think that absolute truth and relative truth can be or should be harmonized? If they could be harmonized, would that not be elevating the relative truth of today to absolute status? Since the average life of a scientific theory is less than twenty years, a harmonization today guarantees a lack of harmony tomorrow. Logic would tell us that a true harmonization cannot take place until Christ returns in glory and all truth is illuminated by the truth of God. Until then, the normal thing to expect is a degree of discord, not harmony [in science]."375/245-246

Through Jesus’ absolute proof through His Physical Resurrection from the dead, it is never the Bible that is in error, but our presuppositions and conclusions in science that are in error. It is not the Bible that needs to be brought into harmony with science, but rather science that needs to be brought into harmony to the Word of God. It is science that is always in error and that needs to do further research and learning to find out where it has gone wrong, not the Bible.

Old earth Creationists teach that while the Bible gives us the "who" and the "why" of creation, science tells us the "when" and the "how" of creation." Evangelicals who hold this position teach that the days in Genesis one are long periods of time, billions of years. They teach that rather than it being an account of how God created the earth and the heavens and man in six literal twenty-four hour days, instead it is an account of how long it took God to show Moses what was involved in the process of creation. This is ridiculous for many reasons. One, Genesis Chapter one makes very plain what kind of a day it is talking about: "And there was evening and there was morning, day one. . . day two. . . day six." Moses makes plain to us that these are twenty-four hour solar days of creation. Moses further confirms that this is what he meant when he wrote in Exodus 20:11,

"For in six days Yehovah made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested on the seventh day; therefore Yehovah blessed the seventh day and made it holy."

Again Lubenow writes:

"At the risk of being called simplistic, one cannot imagine how God could have said more clearly that creation in Genesis 1 is event, and does not involve a process. The setting of this Exodus passage is the Ten Commandments. We are to work six days and rest one day, because God in creation worked six days and rested one day."375/225

Jesus’ miracles were not a process, they were instantaneous creations. He instantly healed blind eyes, took five loves and two fish and instantly multiplied them to feed five thousand people and He instantly raised Lazarus from the dead after being dead for four days. I once prayed for a man whose knees were badly damaged and saw them instantly healed before my eyes. So did he. I do not have a problem believing that Jesus instantly created the earth and the heavens in six twenty-four hour days. And what about at the end of Jesus thousand year reign on earth when Revelation Chapter 21 tells us that He will create a new heavens and a new earth. Does this mean, according to evolution, that we will be standing in space for 20 billion years waiting for it to form?

Jesus said about Himself that He is the Creator and the Resurrection and the life (John Chapters 1 and 11). Paul tells us in 1 Corinthians 15:52 that in the future Jesus will return and instantly, in the twinkling of an eye, resurrect and create new bodies for all believers. These are instant events, not millions of years of time. The context of the Bible itself does not support that these days of creation were long periods of time.

Why do some Christian scholars make this attempt of trying to harmonize the Book of Genesis with Evolution? I believe there are many reasons. One, is that they hope by doing so they will bring many of their fellow scientists to Christ. Rather, though, than it bringing them to Christ, it only further pushes them away from Christ. Trying to mix evolution with the Bible does not strengthen the message of the Bible, it strengthens the position of the evolutionist and only further supports their belief that the Bible is nonsense.

A second reason is for acceptance. They just want to get along with everybody. This seems to be the plague of the Church in America today. They are so busy trying to please our educational system and the government that getting along becomes more important than truth. Getting along becomes more important than the salvation of the individual, because the moment you compromise the message of the Bible you also compromise its message and meaning of salvation. God speaking to job in Job 36:21 stated, "Be careful, do not turn to evil; For you have preferred this to affliction."

The biggest reasons are land, money, position and prestige. They would rather compromise truth and the Gospel than lose face with the government and non-tax status or a position and a high salary. Why is the Church in America losing the battle of Christianity today? These are the reasons why. James, the half-brother of Jesus, taught in his Epistle of James that making the message of the Bible compatible with the teaching of the world is adulterating the word of God and making one’s self God’s enemy. He wrote,

"You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God." (James 4:4)

Christian ministers are not called of God to get along with the world. They are called to preach the message of the Gospel in truth. Paul wrote in Galatians 1:10,

"For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ."
