4 The Bible teaches plainly that when we stand up for the truth of God’s Word, we will be rejected and persecuted by the world. Peter in fact stated plainly that we are called to this purpose. He wrote in 1 Peter 2:21-23 and 4:1-2, "For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His steps, who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in His mouth; and while being reviled, He did not revile in return; while suffering, He uttered no threats, but kept entrusting Himself to Him who judges righteously." "Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the will of God." (1 Peter 4:1-2) Personally, when I stand before the throne of God, I would rather be identified with Moses when the writer of Hebrews said of him: "By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; choosing rather to endure ill-treatment with the people of God, than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin; considering the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures of Egypt; for he was looking to the reward." (Hebrews 11:24-26) *The Mystery of Hebrew Encoding What position are we as Christians to take toward the word of God and especially toward the Book of Genesis? Jesus said in John 5:46-47, "For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me; for he wrote of Me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words?" First, Jesus made it plain that if we do not take literally what Moses wrote in the Book of Genesis that we will not take what He said and taught literally either. Jesus said that Moses was writing about Him, the Creator. Jesus would know if what Moses wrote was true. What else did Jesus say? When I was in college, after completing two semesters of systematic theology which covered many different theories of biblical inspiration, I spent a part of my summer vacation seeking the Lord about what the proper view of Scripture was to be? I received my answer while reading through the book of Matthew. I came to Matthew 5:17-18 to read Jesus saying the following: "Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish, but to fulfill. For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one iota or one point shall pass away from the Law, until all is accomplished." In this passage Jesus taught that every single letter and mark in the Bible is inspired as it appears in the original Hebrew and Greek. In my book, The Bible: God’s Word Absolutely, I document the historical reliability of the Hebrew and Greek manuscripts our contemporary Bibles are translated from. Also in a Chapter in this book I cover Old Testament Prophecies relating to Jesus and modern times. However, in all the thousands of prophecies that are given in the Bible, there are no word for word prophecies given about America, at least not on the surface. Have you ever wondered or heard anyone ask the question, "Where is America in Prophecy?" I have many times. Until recently, many events of the present, outside of Israel, did not seem to be in the Bible. But a recent discovery called Hebrew Encoding has changed all this. For the past 100 years and more we have seen an all out attack on the reliability of the Judeo-Christian Scriptures. Something wonderful, however, has recently happened that has changed this dramatically: it is the ability to use computers to check the reliability of the scriptures in the original languages of the Scripture down to the letter. This has come about through a process that is called ELS: Equidistant Letter Sequences. Grant R. Jeffery in his book, The Signature of God, explains: "Rabbi Michael Dov Weissmandl, a brilliant Czechoslovakian Jewish scholar in astronomy, mathematics, and Judaic studies, found an obscure reference in a book by a fourteenth-century rabbi known as Rabbeynu Bachayah that described a pattern of letters encoded within the Torah. This discovery during the years before World War I inspired Rabbi Weissmandl to begin exploring for other examples of codes hidden within the Torah. During the war years he found that he could locate certain meaningful words or phrases, such as hammer and anvil, if he examined the letters at sequences that were equally spaced in the Hebrew text. In other words, if he found the first letter of a significant word such as Torah, and then, by skipping forward seven letters he found the second letter of the word Torah, he continued to skip forward the same number of letters to see whether or not the complete word Torah was spelled out in the text at equally spaced intervals. Rabbi Weissmandl' described this phenomenon as ‘equidistant letter sequences’ (ELS). The rabbi was astonished to find that an incredible number of significant words were hidden in code within the text of the Torah at equally spaced intervals. These spaced intervals between significant letters varied from every five letters, every seven letters, and numerous other intervals. However, once they found a particular word spelled out at, say every 22nd letter, the balance of the letters from the words in this group were also spaced at an interval of every 22nd letter."309/202-203 To the astonishment of scientists, in both the secular as well as the religious world, they have found in the Judeo-Christian Bible encoded words describing future events and personalities in human history from ancient times up to and including the present. Daniel shares in the book of Daniel that many of the things God showed Daniel about the last days were not to be revealed until the end times. Whether the discovery of ELS is the fulfillment of this prophecy no one can say absolutely, but the end result of running this program on the ancient Massoretic text of the Old Testament have been absolutely astonishing. By applying it to the Torah, the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament written by Moses, the following is a sample of what has been found in the hidden codes in the Massoretic Text: For a start the word Torah was found encoded in Genesis 1:1, Exodus 1:1 and in Numbers and Deuteronomy over and over again. The word Eden is found encoded sixteen times between Genesis 2:4-10. This was just the tip of the ice berg. Also found encoded in the Massoretic text of the Book of Deuteronomy were the words Hitler and Nazis. Hidden close to the words Hitler and Berlin were the names of the death camps Auschwitz and Belsen. Also the phrases King of the Nazis near the phrase an evil house rose up (Deut 33:16). In Deuteronomy was found the name Eichmann who was responsible for the system of death camps which led to the extermination of 6 million Jews. In Deuteronomy 33:21 were found Israel and the phrase a people cry murder, slaughter. The name of the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat occurred together with the name of the leader of the Moslem Brotherhood assassination team that killed him. The code sequence also contained the year of his assassination: 1981 with the words president, gunfire, shot, parade, and murder. He was assassinated during a review of a military parade in 1981. Also in the hidden code of the Torah are names and phrases related to the French Revolution. Close together are: The French Revolution, Louis (The French King), House of Bourbon (his royal dynasty) Hamarseilles (The name of the French National anthem), and Bastillia (the infamous French prison for political prisoners). These are found astoundingly between Genesis Chapters 39-41 which describe Joseph’s imprisonment in Egypt. "Ah! Common Dale! This is a bunch of fantasy!" Is it? These Hebrew coded words and phrases have been studied by a secular publication called Statistical Science. They published their findings in the August 1994 issue. Their conclusions were that the embedded codes were legitament. This encoding had also been studied by Professor Harold Gans, a senior researcher who examined sophisticated foreign government intelligence codes for the U.S. Army. The end result of his study is that he confirms the existence of these codes as reported in Statistical Journal. and that they could not have happened by chance or by human design. As a result of his discoveries, he is now teaching classes in synagogues throughout the world about the incredible evidence proving divine authorship of the Bible.309/217 The end result is that many liberal Jews have come back to a literal belief in the Old Testament teachings. Another astonishing discovery made in the Hebrew codes in the Torah a description about our recent Desert Storm. Codes revealed the following word phrases concerning the Gulf war: the name Saddam; Scud-B and Russian; They shut the door possibly referring to the Israelites protecting themselves from chemical warfare; the phrase the missile will terrify followed by the 3rd of Shevat the actual day in the Hebrew calendar the first missiles hit Israel. Astonishingly the name America ( hqyrma), Iraq, in Saudi Arabia, Schwarzkopf and George Bush. Also found were CNN together with the name Peter Arnet the famous CNN reporter who broadcast from Bagdad during the war.A few years ago Yassir Arafat shook hands with Yitzchak Rabin during the signing of the Declaration of Principles on the White House lawn. Again this even was hidden in the Hebrew Code written by Moses 3,500 years ago. Dr. Moshe Katz, a Israeli Hebrew Code scholar, wrote in his book, Computorah — Hidden codes in the Torah, that they discovered the names of Arafat and Rabin in Genesis 32:23-26. They also found the code words: Arafat — shook the hand — of Rabin along with the phrase: not a real peace. Along with the name Rabin were the phrases first-born son together with head and Israel. Rabin was the first Prime Minister of Israel born in Israel. Also revealed in these Hebrew codes was Yitzchak Rabin’s assassination.
