of 1 Third, we must fight off and command to leave whatever Satanic forces there are that are holding us back from doing God’s will and that have attached themselves to us because of our past sins. Paul writes, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." (Eph 6:12). Satan has you right where he has wanted you for a long time. He is not willing to give that up. You think it is just you. It is not. You are in bondage to spiritual forces. There is only one way you get freed of the bondage of spiritual forces: through earnest prayer on Your knees. You have to fight through this Dave. You do not need to know what it is, you just need to get on your knees, pray, read the word and let God do the battling for you. But if you do not show Him that you are serious about knowing and doing His will and plan for your life by doing what is necessary in prayer and in reading the Word to the exclusion of all else, it won’t do Him any good to remove those demonic forces because they will come right back. Your will won’t be strong enough to keep them away. Again, the process of seeking to know God’s will and plan is also a conditioning and strengthening of Your will not only to know that will but to then be able to carry it through successfully no matter what the obstacles may be that will come against you; and believe me, they will come against you. When you went into the army, if they had put you on the front lines of a battle without any training, without knowing what to do, without having been trained to obey orders first, what would have been your end? The enemy would have sliced and diced you for dinner. Jesus stated, recorded in Matthew 12:30-31: "He who is not with Me is against Me; and he who does not gather with Me scatters. Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven men, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven." First He says that if we are not with Him, we are against Him. He has ordered you to seek Him. He further states in Matthew 7:21-23 that knowing him means to obey Him. He has given you an order: "Dave, cease all other activities and seek me for my will and plan for your life. This cannot be put off any longer. It is of paramount importance that you do this now." We are in a warfare. People are going to hell who are losing this battle. We each play a part in this battle. Shore leave is over. It is time to go to work. Sadly, in the context of this passage, Jesus tells us more: He tells us that, especially when He is prompting us to seek Him now, that to not do so is sin (James 4:17) and if we persist on not obeying what he has called us to do will result in blasphemy against His Holy Spirit which cannot be forgiven, that will lead to an eternal hell. It is His word. I did not say it. Dave, God is saying that you are at a cross roads in your walk with him, that you either decide to prove that You did make him Lord of your life by obeying his command to you to put all aside and seek that will for your life or suffer those fateful words: "Depart from Me, I never knew you." Jesus said, "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven" (Matt 7:21). Knowing Jesus means to seek to know his will and then to obey Him by fulfilling it. Finally, fourth, once you have convinced God you want to know his will and will do it, He then reveals to you clearly what that will is. Now you are ready to carry it through and your will is strong enough to fight off whatever forces will come against you in carrying out that will. Have you not witnessed this in my own life? To run from God’s call is to be a coward, to say to God, "I don’t want to get involved in the battle." Jesus says to do so is to automatically join the forces of Satan and to be against Him, to be His enemy. "But for the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars, their part will be in the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (Rev 21:8) God is telling you, Dave, it is time to get serious with him now. It is time to put all else aside and seek him and align yourself with Him in every fiber of your being. There is no other way You can become a productive citizen in his kingdom. God does not accomplish His will through the flesh. He accomplishes it through obedience. Obedience glorifies God and brings men and women to a saving knowledge of who He is through us. Are you with Him or against Him? He has given You Your present orders. To not carry them out immediately is to be against him, on the enemies side. "When You said, ‘Seek My Face!’ My heart said to You, ‘Your face, O Yehovah, I shall seek.’" (Psalm 27:8) "‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares Yehovah, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. ‘And I will be found by you,’ declares Yehovah, (Jeremiah 29:11-14) The heart is the will. When you seek God with all the volition against your feelings, desires and all distractions, He says that you will find Him, but not before. He also promises that in your seeking Him that you will be found by Him. There is only one reason a person will not heed God and come to him in this way: "And this is the judgment, that the light is come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light, and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." (John 3:19-21) A person who wants God’s will comes to the light so God can show that person whether there daily activities are motivated and established by Him. But a person who does not want God’s will allows whatever distractions Satan brings his way to keep him from seeking God in order to know and discover it. Notice the order: we come to God and seek him. As we do he exposes our deeds. Dave before God can show you his will, he first has to purify you. He can only do this as You wait before Him earnestly and seek him diligently. Once the hidden sins, as well as the known sins, are removed, then God begins to manifest to You what He wants you to do. Nobody said it is not a painful process, but the very fact you resist obeying him in this way shows you are not in his will and that there are things in your life you are not willing to let go of. You will never know the will and plan Jesus has for you unless you do. He is saying this can no longer be put off or wait. You must do business with God now! To do otherwise is to be in the enemies camp and to support his rebellious work. The Bible states that rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft. God says: "‘At the acceptable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I helped you’; behold, NOW IS ‘the acceptable time,’ behold, NOW IS ‘The day of salvation’ (2 Cor 6:2) Your true friend in Jesus, Dale Suggested Further Reading: The Cost of Discipleship , by Deitrick BonhofferPrepare for War, by Rebecca Brown, M.D. Release of the Spirit, by Watchman Nee Study
