Evangelism:
ETERNAL LIFE
What does it mean to Receive Jesus Christ as LORD? First, That Jesus Loves You and That He Has A Present and Eternal Plan for Your Life And That He Is the ONLY WAY to That Plan Jesus said: "I came that you might have life and might have it abundantly. . . . I am THE WAY, and THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE; no one comes to the Father, but through Me." (John 10:10, 14:6) Second, Receiving Jesus as Lord Means to REPENT of Your Sins "Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, Nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." (1 Cor 6:9-10; Heb 10:26-27; Gal 5:19-21; Luke 19:8-9) Repentance Involves: 1) Confessing our Sins to God, 2) Making right our wrongs confessed, 3) And then bringing forth fruit, continued changed behavior, in keeping with Repentance. (Matt 3:1-12, Luke 3:1-14) metanoevw 1) to repent, repentance ajrsenokoivth" homosexuals, sodomites 7
Paul States: "Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all everywhere should repent, because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead." (Acts 17:30-31) Third, Receiving Jesus as Lord Means to OBEY His Will and Plan for Your Life Revealed Through His Holy Spirit Jesus said: "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven." (Matthew 7:21) The Apostle John wrote: "By this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. The one who says, 'I have come to know Him,' and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." (1 John 2:3-4; John 3:36; Heb 10:26) If a Person Has TRULY SURRENDERED to Jesus as Lord He Will SUBMIT to His Will and Plan for His Life 8
Jesus said: "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears My voice and opens the door, I WILL come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me." (Rev 3:20) The door refers to our hearts. The Heart is the volitional part of man. It is that part of man that controls his life and free will destiny. Jesus says, Surrender that to Me. (Proverbs 6:32) Receiving Jesus Christ Then into Your Heart Means:

We RECEIVE Jesus Christ into our hearts BY FAITH The Apostle Paul wrote: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast." (Ephesians 2:8-9) What Does the Bible Mean by Faith? It does not mean blind faith , meaning faith without proof or verification; it means knowing that once we ask Jesus to come into our heart as Savior from our sins and as Lord of our life, that He does come in and save us, not as a feeling, but because He gave us ABSOLUTE proof that He will do what He promised when He came back Physically from the dead. And what is Jesus' promise? That He will come into your heart when you ask Him to. Luke, a Physician, wrote about Jesus' Resurrection: "To these He also presented Himself alive, after His suffering, by many convincing proofs, appearing to them over a period of forty days, and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God." (Acts 1:3) 10
The Bible talks about two kinds of people: Self-Controlled and Christ-Controlled A self-controlled person is a person who is motivated and controlled through their soul, their intellect and feelings and through their flesh their appetite and desires which often times results in discord, disharmony and frustration. This is symbolized by these different dots. The cross represents Jesus knocking saying He would like to come in, but God is a gentleman, He does not just force His way into a person's life. The person on the right represents a Christ-controlled life. A Christ-controlled person is a person who by an act of his own free will has responded to Jesus' invitation and has invited Him into his life and placed Him on the throne, the control center of his life. As a result, a Christ-controlled person is a person who is motivated and controlled by Christ through their spirit. These dots which are now in an ordered pattern does not mean that this person does not have problems in life, everybody in life has problems. What they symbolize are that as this person puts his trust in Jesus Christ not only for salvation, but as he seeks His counsel concerning the separate individual areas of his life that it results in harmony with God's purpose and plans for his life despite his problems.

The Way You Come to Know Jesus Is by LITERALLY Inviting Him into Your Heart What Is Stated Here Is a Suggested Prayer: Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and repent of my known sins. I ask You now to come into my heart as Savior from my sins and as Lord of my life. Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving my sins through Your Son's death and shed blood on the cross and that I now have eternal life. Now take control of my life, and through Your Holy Spirit lead me into your will and plan for my life; in Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth's name, amen. Would you like to pray and ask Jesus into your heart? 12
