Evangelism: Section 5, Chapter 9 How to Disciple A New Christian APPOINTMENT 2: 1) First, start by asking the New Christian how his week has been. 2) Second, start your time of study with prayer, only have him pray this time. 3) Third, ask him to share with you what he has learned through his reading Understanding Your Salvation In Jesus. 4) Fourth, ask him if he has been reading the Gospel of John. If he has, ask him to share with you what he has been learning in his reading. Encourage him to continue his reading. If not, encourage him to start reading it. 5) Fifth, ask him what Jesus ministered to him this week during his feeding on Jesus and His Word. 6) Sixth, ask him if he has any other questions on this week’s assignment. 8) Eighth, take out a copy of Experiencing Jesus’ Forgiveness Daily and ask him to read it during the next week and be prepared to share with you what he learned from the book during the week. You might also consider giving him a copy of the questions from this textbook on these Chapters to answer while going through the book and then plan to go over them together in your next meeting. 9) Ninth, ask him if he has been reading the Gospel of John. If he has, ask him to share with you what he has been learning in his reading. 10) Tenth, establish when you will meet next to go over the next lesson and where. 11) Eleventh, close with prayer. Ask him if he has any personal needs. If so, pray for him and his needs. 12) Twelfth, call him during the week to see how he is doing. Answer whatever questions he has and pray for any present needs that he has. 13) Thirteenth, write a letter like this sample letter, titled Understanding Your Salvation in Jesus which reaffirms what you covered in this week’s lesson.
