Study Questions:

  1. Why don’t the majority of Christians get involved in aggressively reaching out to the lost, hurting and scattered?

  2. When Jesus said that those who would follow Him would receive 100 times as much, He was talking about the life to come, not this life. How do we know this?

  3. Paul really believed that heaven was a real place that was forever, but he also believed that this life was only temporary and would not last. In light of this, how did Paul invest in the bank in heaven?

  4. Paul tells us in Acts 20:33-35 and 1 Corinthians 9:14-18 that he worked for a living and lived off of no one while preaching the Gospel on the field so as to not be a stumbling block in any way to the Gospel and so men could not say he was involved in ministry for the money. Why does he say he did this according to 2 Thessalonians 3:7-9?

  5. In light of Paul’s life example, what is God’s ideal will for you and me?

  6. What is not God’s will for our lives and why?

  7. In Luke 12:20, what does Jesus say about a person who invests in this life only? Why?

  8. When we as believers invest in this life only, what does James, the half brother of Jesus, say we do in James 4:4?

  9. In Matthew 12:50, who did Jesus say where his friends, brothers, sisters and mother?

  10. If one wants to serve Jesus in the preaching of the Gospel, why is keeping a simple life style and as little material holdings as possible important?

  11. How have you decided to use your resources and free time? In service to Jesus or in the pursuit of temporal things that will not last into eternity? When the Son of Man comes, what do you want Him to find in you? Faith or no faith? The choice is yours. I encourage you to put your trust in Jesus and spend your life living for Him and His Kingdom through the preaching of the Gospel to men and the investment of your resources into His Kingdom.
