The Purpose of This Book:  Hosea 4:6 states "My People are destroyed for lack of knowledge."  About 14 years ago I (Dale P. Kruse) started running into people, American born citizens, who had no background knowledge in the Bible at all.  For example:  a woman in her twenties asked me "Pastor Kruse, who is Adam and Eve?  Where does this come from?"  As a result I decided to write a book which covered the foundational teachings of Christianity titled What the Bible Teaches About God, the Universe and Man.  This Book covers what the Bible teaches about the Nature of God, the Trinity; God's Creation of the Earth, the Universe and Man in 6 literal 24 hour days; the Creation, Constitution and Fall of Man, and Jesus' full Salvation for Man and how to receive that Salvation.  Another Chapter covers the evidence the Bible provides us for how to know who is the only True God and what is His only true book:  the Bible.  This Book has also proven very effective in reaching Muslims with the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Importance of this Book:  The Apostle Peter wrote in 1 Peter 3:15 "But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." The word Defense in the Greek is apologia. It is the word we get Apologetics from. Apologetics in Christianity means explaining how we know that what the Bible teaches is true and is truly God's word. How do we know who is the only true God? How do we know that Jesus is God and the only way to God? How do we know that the Bible is God's Holy Word and God's Holy Word alone? How do we know that the Genesis account of Creation, of the Creation of Man and the Universe in 6 literal 24 hour days is true?
