* A leper and Jesus claimed he was God (Luke
17:15-17)
* Jesus claims to be
the Son of God, thus of the essence of God, God
Himself: "And they all said, ‘Are You the Son of God, then?’
And He said to them, ‘Yes I am.’" (Luke 22:70)
* Jesus claims to be
the King of the Jews: "And Pilate asked Him, saying,
‘Are you the king of the Jews?’ And He answered and said, ‘It
is as you say.’" (Luke 23:3)
* Jesus claims to be
above all, only God is above all (John 3:31)
* Jesus claims to
have the Holy Spirit without measure. Only infinite God has
the Holy Spirit without measure (John 3:34)
* The Samaritans
claimed that Jesus is the Savior of the world, "this One is
indeed the Savior of the world" (John 4:42). Jehovah claimed that He and
He alone is Savior (Isaiah 43:10-11). The Samaritans claimed Jesus to be
Jehovah.
*The Jewish leaders
claimed that Jesus was claiming to be equal with God ,
thus of the essence of God, God Himself (John 5:18)
* Jesus claims that
God the Father shows Him all things that He is doing. Only
God with an infinite heart can know all He is doing. Jesus claims to have
an infinite heart, thus He claims to be God (John 5:20)
* Jesus claims that
He can give life to whomever he wishes (John 5:21). Paul
tells us plainly that God alone possesses immortality (1 Tim 6:16). For
Jesus to claim to give life to anyone is for Jesus to claim to be God.
* Jesus claims that
the Father has given all judgment to Him so that he will receive equal
honor as the Father, thus claiming to be equal with the Father
(John 5:22-23), Jesus claims to be God.
1A. Only infinite
God can judge all things justly. God the Father gave this honor to Jesus
so men would recognize His true nature: God.
* Jesus claims
to have life in Himself, immortal life (John 5:26). Paul tells
us that only God possesses immortality (1 Tim 6:16)
* Jesus claims that
Moses wrote about Him in Genesis, thus claiming that He is Jehovah
God our Creator (John 5:46-47)
* Jesus claims to be
I AM,

the Septuagint formula for Jehovah, in John 6:20, thus claiming to
be the God of Moses.
* Jesus claims to be
the Bread of Life and that all who will come to Him will
never hunger again, thus claiming to be the source of Life,
thus God Himself (John 6:33-35)
* Jesus claims that
He is the Light of the World, not a messenger of God’s
light, but that He Is the Light Himself, thus drawing the
focus to Himself, thus declaring Himself God; even the Pharisees declared
that He bore witness of Himself (John 8:12-13).
* Jesus claims to be
Jehovah from above, I AM, and states clearly unless we
believe that He is Jehovah God come in the flesh we will die in our sins
(John 8:23-24).
* Jesus said that
once He was crucified, His being Jehovah in the flesh, I AM,
would be revealed (John 8:28). |
* Jesus
claims that he who is of God hears the words of God and then said that if
you do not hear His Words you are not of God, thus claiming
to be God (John 8:31, 8:46-47)
* Jesus claims that whoever keeps His Word
will never see death, thus claiming to be our source of life, thus God
Himself (John 8:51).
* Jesus claims that
He is Jehovah God, I AM, and that He existed before Abraham
existed (John 8:58).
* Jesus claims to be
the Light of the world, thus the Creator, God Himself (John
9:5).
* Jesus received
worship from the man He healed from blindness thus declaring Himself God
(John 9:38, Matthew 4:10)
* Jesus claims to be
the Resurrection & the Life and that whoever believes in
Him will never die, thus declaring Himself God the creator
(John 11:25-26).
* Martha claimed
that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, even He who comes into the
world. (John 11:27).
* Jesus made plain
that His mission was to draw men to Himself, to make Himself
the center of attention. This is contrary to what Jehovah Witnesses teach
which is that God was saving men through Him. Jesus said He is salvation
(John 12:32)
* Jesus claims to be
our Teacher & Lord (John 13:13).
* Jesus said that He
revealed the future to the disciples before it came to pass so that they
would know that He is I AM, Jehovah God in the flesh (John
13:19).
* When the Roman
cohort, and officers from the chief priests and the Pharisees came for
Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane, they asked for Jesus of Nazareth and
Jesus said, I AM, and they fell to the ground at the
presence and name of God Jehovah, I AM (John 18:5-6).
* Paul claimed that
Jesus is the Son of God, thus of the essence of God, God
Himself in the flesh. He also claimed that Jesus is the promised
Messiah (Acts 9:20, 22).
* Acts 20:28 states
"shepherd the church of God which He purchased with His own blood." A
plain statement that Jesus is God.
* In Titus 1:3 Paul
states: "according to the commandment of God our Savior." Then in Titus
1:4 he states, "Christ Jesus our Savior." If this is not clear enough to
the reader, Paul again in Titus 2:13 states clearly: "looking for the
blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and
Savior, Christ Jesus." Paul makes plain here that Jesus is God
our Savior.
* In 2 Peter 1:1
Peter declares about Jesus Christ that He is our "God and Savior."
* John tells us in 1
John 5:20 that Jesus is the true God and eternal life: "We are in Him who
is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life."
* Jude shares that
it was Jesus who saved Israel out of Egypt and destroyed those who did not
believe: "Jesus, after saving a people out of the land of Egypt,
subsequently destroyed those who did not believe" (Jude 1:5). In doing so
Jude declared Jesus Jehovah God.
* Rev 7:11, 15 talk
about God being on the throne in heaven and then John writes that "for the
Lamb in the center of the throne," thus declaring Jesus God (Rev 7:11, 15,
17). |
