*Israel
God’s Inheritance
Deuteronomy 32:9 “For Yehovah’s portion
is His people; Jacob is the allotment of His inheritance.”
2 Samuel 7:24 "For You
have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your own people forever."
Psalm 89:35-37 "Once I
have sworn by My holiness; I will not lie to David. His descendants shall endure
forever, and his throne as the sun before Me. It shall be established forever
like the moon, and the witness in the sky is faithful."
Psalm 94:14
“For Yehovah will not abandon His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance.”
Isaiah 19:25
“Whom Yehovah of hosts has blessed, saying, ‘Blessed is Egypt My people, and
Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance.’”
Isaiah 45:17 "Israel has
been saved by Yehovah with an everlasting salvation; You will not be put to
shame or humiliated to all eternity."
Jeremiah 10:16
“The portion of Jacob is not like these; for the Maker of all is He, and Israel
is the tribe of His inheritance; Yehovah of hosts is His name.”
1 Kings 8:53
“For You have separated them from all the peoples of the earth as Your
inheritance, as You did speak through Moses Your servant, when You did bring our
fathers forth from Egypt, O Lord Yehovah.”
2 Samuel 7:14-17
“‘I will be a father to him and he will be a son to Me; when he commits
iniquity, I will correct him with the rod of men and the strokes of the sons of
men, but My lovingkindness shall not depart from him, as I took it away from
Saul, whom I removed from before you. And your house and your kingdom shall
endure before Me forever; your throne shall be established forever.’ In
accordance with all these words and all this vision, so Nathan spoke to David.
2 Samuel 7:24
“For You have established for Yourself Your people Israel as Your own people
forever.”
*Why
God Chose israel
-
First, they are to receive, write and preserve the Word of God. As the
Apostle Paul testified, “. ..they were entrusted with the oracles of God”
(Rom 3:2).
-
Second, the way God deals with Israel in response to their faith or lack of
faith is a living historical lesson about God's character. The way God dealt
with Israel as a nation teaches principles of how He deals with the
individual who believes in Him!
-
Third, they are to be the physical race through which the Messiah, the
Savior of the world would be born. Isaiah predicted the mission of this
Messiah, “It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up
the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will
also make You a light to the Gentiles so that My salvation may reach to the
end of the earth” (Isaiah 49:6).
-
Fourth, they are called to spread the message of the true God and His
salvation to the world.264/20-21

__________
*Jesus
Sent to Israel First
Matthew 10:5-6 "These twelve Jesus sent out after instructing them,
saying, "do not go in the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter any city of the
Samaritans; but rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel."
Matthew 15:24 Jesus said while on earth "I was sent only to the lost
sheep of the house of Israel."
Acts 3:26 Peter stated "For you first, God raised up His Servant, and sent
Him to bless you by turning every one of you from your wicked ways."
*Peter,
Paul & Barnabas Sent to the Gentiles
Acts 10:34-35 "And opening his mouth, Peter said; ‘I most certainly
understand now that God is not one to show partiality, but in every nation the
man who fears Him and does what is right, is welcome to Him.’"
Acts10:43-44 "‘Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His
name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.’ While Peter was
still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were
listening to the message." (Acts 10:43-44, 8:12, 8:36-38, 16:30-33, 11:15-17,
15:8-11)
Acts 11:15-17 "And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon
them, just as He did upon us at the beginning. And I remembered the word of the
Lord, how He used to say, ‘John baptized with water, but you shall be baptized
with the Holy Spirit.’ If God therefore gave to them the same gift as He gave to
us also after believing in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could stand
in God’s way?"
Acts 15:8-11 "And God, who knows-the-heart, bore witness to them,
giving them the Holy Spirit, just as He also did to us; and He made no
distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith. . . . But we
believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, in the same way
as they also are."
Acts 13:2-4 "And while they were ministering to the Lord and fasting,
the Holy-Spirit said, ‘Set apart for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which
I have called them.’ Then, when they had fasted and prayed and laid their hands
on them, they sent them away. So, being sent out by the Holy-Spirit, they went
down to Seleucia and from there they sailed to Cyprus."
Romans 11:13 "But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles Inasmuch then
as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry."
Galatians 2:8 "For He who effectually worked for Peter in his
apostleship to the circumcised effectually worked for me also to the Gentiles."
*Those
Who Afflict Israel Will Be Afflicted
Genesis 12:3 “And I will bless those who
bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families
of the earth shall be blessed.” (Genesis 12:3)
Isaiah 60:12, 14
“For the nation and the kingdom which will not serve you will perish, And
the nations will be utterly ruined. The glory of Lebanon will come to you, The
juniper, the box tree, and the cypress together, To beautify the place of My
sanctuary; And I shall make the place of My feet glorious. And the sons of those
who afflicted you will come bowing to you, And all those who despised you will
bow themselves at the soles of your feet; And they will call you the city of
Yehovah, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel.”
Zechariah 2:8 “For thus says Yehovah-of-hosts, 'After glory He has sent me
against the nations which plunder you, for he who touches you, touches the apple
of His eye. For behold, I will wave My hand over them, so that they will be
plunder for their slaves. Then you will know that Yehovah-of-hosts has sent Me.
Sing for joy and be glad, daughter of Zion; for behold I am coming and I will
dwell in your midst,' declares Yehovah. 'And many nations will join themselves
to Yehovah in that day and will become My people. Then I will dwell in your
midst, and you will know that Yehovah-of-hosts has sent Me to you. And Yehovah
will possess Judah as His portion in the holy land, and will again choose
Jerusalem."” (Speaks of Jesus’ second coming and millennual reign)
Zechariah 14:12
“Now this will be the plague with which Yehovah will strike all the
peoples who have gone to war against Jerusalem; their flesh will rot while they
stand on their feet, and their eyes will rot in their sockets, and their tongue
will rot in their mouth.”
Psalm 122:6
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem. May they prosper who love you.”
*The
Land of Israel Belongs to Israel Forever
Genesis 13:14-15 “And Yehovah said to
Abram, after Lot had separated from him, Now lift up your eyes and look from the
place where you are, northward and southward and eastward and westward; for all
the land which you see, I will give it to you and to your descendants forever.”
Genesis 15:18
“On that day Yehovah made a covenant with Abram, saying, “To your descendants I
have given this land, from the river of Egypt
as far as the great river, the river Euphrates.”
[Nisan 14, 1914 BC]
Isaiah 60:21-22
“Then all your people will be righteous; They will possess the land
forever, The branch of My planting, The work of My hands, That I may be
glorified. The smallest one will become a clan, And the least one a mighty
nation. I, Yehovah, will hasten it in its time.”
Jeremiah 7:7
“Then I will let you dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your
fathers forever and ever.”
Joel 3:1-2
(4:1-2) “For behold, in those days and at that time, when I restore the fortunes
of Judah and Jerusalem, I will gather all the nations, and bring them down to
the valley of Jehoshaphat. Then I will enter into judgment with them there on
behalf of My people and My inheritance, Israel, whom they have scattered among
the nations; and they have divided up My land.
-
God's conditions
for Abraham's descendants receiving the promised land was His leaving his
Father's home and going to the promised land.
-
God Promised
Abraham the land would be his descendants FOREVER! (Gen 12:7, 13:15-17)
-
This covenant God
made with Abraham of the land being given to His descendants forever from the
Egyptian river to the river Euphrates is unconditional, meaning not based on how
good Israel is. (Gen 15:21)
*Boundaries
of the Land of Israel
Genesis 15:18 On that day Yehovah made a
covenant with Abram [Nisan 14, 1914 BC],
saying, “To your descendants I have given this land, from the river of Egypt as
far as the great river, the river Euphrates
Exodus 23:31
“And I will fix your boundary from the Red Sea to the sea of the Philistines,
and from the wilderness to the River Euphrates; for I will deliver the
inhabitants of the land into your hand, and you will drive them out before you.”
*Israel’s
Captivity
Jeremiah 25:11 Seventy Years Captivity
to Babylon: “And this whole land shall be a desolation and a horror, and
these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.”
Isaiah 44:28 Prophecy of Cyrus’s
release of the Jews from Captivity Before He Was Born: “It is I who says of
Cyrus, ‘He is My shepherd! and he will perform all My desire.’ and he declares
of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built, and of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be
laid.’”
Ezra 1:3 Cyrus’s Fulfillment of the
Jews Release from Captivity: “Whoever there is among you of all His people,
may his-Elohim be with him! Let him go up to Jerusalem which is in Judah, and
rebuild the house of Yehovah-Elohim-of-Israel; He is the Elohim who is in
Jerusalem.”
Ezekiel 4:4-6 430 years of punishment
world captivity: “As for you, lie down on your left side, and lay the
iniquity of the house of Israel on it; you shall bear their iniquity for the
number of days that you lie on it. For I have assigned you a number of days
corresponding to the years of their iniquity, three hundred and ninety days;
thus you shall bear the iniquity of the house of Israel. When you have completed
these, you shall lie down a second time, but on your right side, and bear the
iniquity of the house of Judah; I have assigned it to you for forty days, a day
for each year.”
Leviticus 26:18 430 - 70 X 7 = 2,520
Biblical Years More of Punishment of World Captivity: “If also after these
things, you do not obey Me, then I will punish you seven times more for your
sins.” [Fulfilled to the day, month and year: May
14, 1948]
*The
Nations Will Surround Israel and Bring Jesus Back
Zecheriah 14:2-4 "For I
will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and the city will be
captured, the houses plundered, the women ravished, and half of the city exiled,
but the rest of the people will not be cut off from the city. Then Yehovah will
go forth and fight against those nations, as when He fights on a day of battle.
And in that day His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, which is in front of
Jerusalem on the east; and the Mount of Olives will be split in its middle from
east to west by a very large valley, so that half of the mountain will move
toward the north and the other half toward the south."
Acts 1:9-11 "And after he had said these things, He was
lifted up while they were looking on, and a cloud received Him out of their
sight. And as they were gazing intently into the sky while He was departing,
behold, two men in white clothing stood beside them; and they also said, "Men of
Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus, who has been taken
up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him
go into heaven." Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet,
which is near Jerusalem, a a Sabbath day’s journey away."
