Back to "S", Topical Scriptures Topical Scriptures Suicide 1 Cornthians 3:17 "If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are." 1 John 3:15 "Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal spiritual-life abiding in him." Suicide is the result of hatred of self, attempting to destroy self. Jesus said in Matthew 7:20-21 "So then, you will know them by their fruits. Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven." If a person today rebels against Jesus’ will and purpose for their lives, tomorrow he or she can repent and can go back and do God’s will. However, if a person commits suicide, they are dead and repentance is not possible. It is an unpardonable sin because it is a sin that cannot be repented of, made right. What does this mean? It means that no matter how terrible what you are currently going through is, what we may be currently going through God has either placed you there by His design or allowed you to be there by His will. Because He has, no matter how hopeless your situation seems at the moment, Jesus wants you to trust Him and have faith in Him that He will see you through your current trial in life. If your situation seems hopeless, intolerable even to the point of living, these are Jesus’ promises to you: 1 Peter 5:8-10 "Be of sober spirit, be on the alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world. And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to You." Isaiah 41:10 "Do not fear, for I am with you; Do not anxiously look about you, for I am your Elohim. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Romans 10:13 "For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Jeremiah 29:11-13 "‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares Yehovah, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.’" Galatians 6:9 "And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary." Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of His might." 1 Chronicles 16:11 & Psalm 105:4 "Seek Yehovah and His strength; seek His face continually." What You need to do is call upon Jesus to save You and give You His Holy Spirit grace, strength and power to see You through and deliver you from your trial. Jesus promise is that He will save you, that He will strengthen you, and that He will be with you in and through your trial. Jesus said in John 14:18 "I will not leave you as orphans, I will come to You." If you do not know Jesus, pray and invite Him into Your heart as Savior and Lord and ask Him to save you from yourself and the trial you are going through. Pray like this: Jesus, I confess to You that I am a sinner and repent of my known sins. I ask You now to come into my heart as Savior from my sins and as Lord of my life. Heavenly Father, thank You for forgiving my sins through Your Son’s death and shed blood on the cross and that I now have eternal life. Now take control of my life, and through Your Holy Spirit lead me into your will and plan for my life; in Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth’s name, amen. If you know Jesus, or have just come to know Jesus pray this prayer also: Jesus, I confess to You that I cannot endure this trial in my own strength. You commanded me in Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might." In light of Your command, I ask You for Your Holy Spirit grace, strength and power to endure this trial and for Your grace to keep my eyes on You and to believe You to see me through it. I also ask You to please deliver me from whatever bondage I am in related. You said Jesus in John 8:32 "You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free." Jesus, please set me from from Satan and any drugs I am addicted to and whatever other addiction in my life is destroying me. Jesus save me! By Faith in Your name Jesus' I thank you for hearing and answering this prayer for You said in Romans 10:13 "For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved." Jesus, again thank you for saving me and hearing and answering this prayer in Your name Jesus, amen.
