Matthew 7:24-27 Jesus said "Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine, and acts upon them, may be compared to a wise man, who built his house upon the rock. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded upon the rock. And everyone who hears these words of Mine, and does not act upon them, will be like a foolish man, who built his house upon the sand. And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and burst against that house; and it fell, and great was its fall."

Why is America turning away from its foundation and away from God? Today (June 18, 2009) on the 700 Club they conducted some surveys among people in America, especially college age students. They asked them questions about the Bible: "What is the first book in the Bible?" The answer: "New Testament." They went on to ask several other people who gave more wrong answers. The survey showed that this generation has no knowledge of the Bible God's Word.  Why has America turned its back on God? Why are young people so ignorant about what the Bible teaches?  What is the problem? There are many.

Before our Country became a Nation, there were thirteen colonies. These colonies were started by Christians fleeing persecution in Europe. They came to America to be able to freely Worship and serve God and raise their children in the Christian faith.  At first in trying to get established and to survive they tried working together in community, rationing food, etcetera. However, they found this did not work.  This was because some worked very hard and the rest lived off of those who worked hard. Paul wrote:

2 Thessalonians 3:10-12 "If anyone will not work, neither let him eat. For we hear that some among you are leading an undisciplined life, doing no work at all, but acting like busybodies. Now such persons we command and exhort in Adonai-Jesus-Christ to work in quiet fashion and eat their own bread."

The leadership, in order to solve this problem, decided to give each family of the community a piece of land to farm and develop and live off of for themselves. Suddenly out of self pride and survival everyone was working hard, farming there own land and before they knew it they had more food than the community needed. Thus Capitalism was formed.

Because of this new development of Capitalism and individualism, the leadership was concerned to keep people close to God, in Church and close to the community and to keep the community and politics in God's will for them as a community. What did they do? They made a law that only people who were members of a Church could vote. That encouraged people to weekly attend services and that meant Christian principles and virtues stayed in politics and in our law making. When you read the first laws of our land, you find next to them Bible verses which justify the law. This was a good plan that worked.

What happened then? Where did America go wrong? Why do we not still have this in force today? For a long time I complained that our founding fathers did not put enough checks and balances in our laws and foundation to keep us Christian and in God's will for America. As you can see from what I just shared the colonies did. What went wrong then? The people who wrote our Constitution were not Bornagain and did not have the heart, mind and conviction the colonists had.  They were politicians, ideologists. Some were religious, but they were not committed to Jesus Christ, His Word and His cause of the Gospel as the colonies were.  After the Declaration of Independence, when our founding fathers wrote the Constitution they did not include these important points:  that we were a Christian Nation, that freedom of religion was meant only within the Christian Faith and not any other faith or religion, and that only Church members could vote.  This oversight was no accident.  These were not stupid people.  These were the educated intellectuals of America.  When the Constitution was presented to the colonies they did not demand these continued standards before they agreed to and signed the Constitution.  They compromised. The colonies came up with the Bill of Rights to add to the Constitution which guaranteed freedom of speech, press and religion, but again they did not specify meaning only within the Christian faith and that only Church members could vote.  This left the door open for any religion and ideology to get a foothold in our country and say and influence our communities and national politics.  As a result, America quickly moved away from serving Jesus' and His intended purpose and goals for her which was to exalt Him and spread the Gospel.  Instead, Idolatry quickly took hold of everyone's daily life. Seeking Jesus' will and what He wanted for the country was no longer in the forefront.

One might note that the Islamic countries do uphold not only these standards within their own religion but even more stringent laws to keep their religion and politics from being compromised.  I am not suggesting other religions be treated the way Christians are treated in Muslim countries, but at least they understand the importance of not having compromise within their religion and politics.

What do I mean by idolatry?  Most people when they think of idolatry they think of the Old Testament and people making figurines and then bowing down and worshiping these idols.  That is one form of idolatry, the kind of idolatry talked about a lot in the Old Testament.  Idolatry, however, is also anything we put first before our relationship with God and His will and plan for our lives.  For example Paul the Apostle wrote:

Colossians 3:5-6 "Therefore put to death your members that are on earth to fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil lust, and covetousness which is idolatry. For it is on account of these things that the wrath of God will come."

Jesus has a purpose and plan for every individual and we are commanded and obligated in Scripture to seek Jesus out to know that will and plan and to walk in it:

Ephesians 5:15-17 "Therefore be careful how you walk, not as unwise men, but as wise, making the most of your time, because the days are evil. So then do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is."

Matthew 6:33 "But seek-continually first His kingdom and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added to you."

Psalm 37:4 "Delight yourself in Yehovah; and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Jeremiah 29:11-13 "‘For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares Yehovah, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.’"

Psalm 16:11 "You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever."

This is also Jesus will for us as a City, State and Country.  To do otherwise is to ruler over and worship oneself which amounts to idolatry.

In the Constitution and Bill of Rights we did not declare that Jesus is King and that we were a Christian Nation and, therefore, that our laws and decisions had to come into submission to the Bible to be valid and lawful, and that, as was before, that only members of the Church could vote to keep us Christian and in submission to God's will for us as laid out in the Bible.  That led to idolatry and opened the door for every kind of religion and political ideology to come and influence our politics and law making.

At first in America there were only private Christian schools and colleges. They existed, first, to teach people how to read so they could read the Bible, so they would be influenced by it and its teachings for us in every day life and politics.  The colleges like Harvard, Yale, and Princeton existed to train Ministers to teach and preach the Gospel.  The TV and Radio was the local pulpit.  The Ministers brought the current news events and political happenings that were taking place in society to the people in Church and explained from the Word of God what was right or wrong with a person's position and politics.  Because in the Constitution and Bill of Rights no conditions were put on freedom of religion, meaning what religion, which also effected the freedom of the press, current events moved from the pulpits to the News Papers.  The News Papers, however, were not necessarily run or influenced by godly men who reported based on the teachings of the Bible, but instead were taken over by ungodly men who expressed their own opinions whether the Bible supported it or not.  This resulted in idolatry now in the media.

Later still in the 1840s Secular men who hated the Christian religion and wanted to remove its influence from society, pushed for passage of a bill in congress for the financing of Public Education for the masses.  Here we see a good example of the violation of so called church and state. It is not the Governments job to educate the public about anything. That is the responsibility of "We the People...." Public Education is the Government controlling what is taught to us. If liberalism is in control, all they are teaching is godless liberalism. They pushed for Public Education to rid education and society of Christian and religious influence.  If they were alive today, they would be ecstatic at the progress Public Education has made in eradicating any teaching or mention of the Bible in the Public Schools and in the Courts, at the elimination of prayer in schools and the public display of the Ten Commandments.  President Ronald Reagan, a dedicated Christian, understood the evils of Public Education and its danger to the Nation of America and sought to have it removed when he was in office.  Unfortunately, he had a Democratic dominated House and Senate and strong teacher's union to deal with and could not push it through during his terms in office.

Today all around us we see the fruit of Public Education:  Christianity and God stripped from our political process and education, gay and lesbian marriage legalized in one state after another which the Bible teaches is evidence of the beginning of God's judgment upon a nation (Romans Chapter 1).  What do I mean by that?  Paul wrote in Romans 1:28 "And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them up to a mind void of judgment, to do those things which are not proper."  Paul then goes on to give a list of items related (See 2 Timothy Chapter 3 also).  Now we are under the control of a fascist socialist government who is quickly demolishing our inadequately established Constitution foundation.  Soon, if something is not done, we will look like 1970s Russia.

Why is this happening?  Because only where the Holy Spirit of God is, is there liberty.  Without the Bible as the foundation of our society and Jesus as our King, study your history, there is no liberty, there is only oppression, poverty and bondage.  Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 3:17 "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit-of-the-Lord is, there is liberty."  Right now you can move around America free, but I lived in Canada for a year and a half where socialism is in control.  Because socialists do not believe in God and God's love and provision in the earth to take care of us, therefore Socialists have to control every detail of your daily life because they see themselves as God (As the liberal media declared Obama to be).  My wife was trying to get her driver's license there.  Their road code is so complicated that I told her, as I studied it with her, "I do not think I could pass this the first time."  She had to take the test three times to pass it.  They have social medicine where the Government controls medicine.  When you go to the hospital you wait 8 to 24 hours just to be looked at.  Depending on what your problem is, you could die before they see you and some have.  When man is king he must control everything and the people are oppressed and in bondage. But where Jesus is King everyone is free and common sense is the order of the day.

What can we do?  Is it possible to bring America back to God and to a constitution that is adequate?  Is there a solution to this?  Yes!  How do we get rid of our idols, regain America and put Jesus back on the throne? First, the problem is that this generation is completely ignorant and without any knowledge of God's Word the Bible, which is where our knowledge and freedoms came from in America in the first place.  God speaking through the Prophet Hosea in Hosea 4:6 states "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."  Therefore, first, we (and by we I mean anyone who claims to be a bornagain follower of Jesus Christ) need to go out and educate the public one-on-one about the Gospel and the teachings of the Bible.  Jesus said in John 8:32 "You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."  Only where the knowledge of God's Word is, is there true liberty because "where the Spirit-of-the-Lord is, there is liberty" (2 Cor 3:17).

I saw on a Christian TV show today that they, aware of this problem in America, want to raise millions of dollars to make movies to reach America with the Word of God.  I commend them for what they are doing.  However, the godless in our society do not attend church. they do not watch religious programs on TV.  Obama's regime (June 19, 2009) announced that religious programming will no longer be allowed on Public TV.  They are doing everything they can to eliminate Christianity from the public arena because they know it is the enemy of what they are trying to do.  In doing so, they have declared war against God and Christianity, and therefore every Christian in this country, and the intent of our first 13 colonies.  Because this is true, this is not a time for Christians to stand on the side lines.  How then Do we bring America back to God, back to a Christian based society and in our law making?  We as Christians must put aside our selfishness and start obeying the Lord for the reason He has not already taken us home and that is to use our free time and resources to go out and share the love of Jesus Christ, the Gospel, the Word of God with men.  Paul wrote in Romans 10:17 "So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ."  In order for people to have faith in the Gospel and come to saving faith in Jesus, they have to hear God's Word the Bible.  This is because the Bible is God's Truth!  Because it is, God backs up His Word with the presence, power and conviction of the Holy Spirit.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 "All Scripture is given-by-inspiration-of-God and is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work."

Hebrews 4:12 "For the word of God is spiritually-alive and energetically-effective and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the conscious-reasonings and intentions of the heart."

Ephesians 6:17 "And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God"

Since godless men are not going to read the Bible or go to Church or watch religious programs, the only way they are going to hear God's Word the Bible is when all Christians go out and in love share God's Word with men and women one-on-one no matter what the laws are.  Peter and John said when told not to preach the gospel any further by the governing authorities of the land in Acts 5:29 "We must obey God rather than men."

Paul said in Romans 10:13-15,

Romans 10:13-15 "‘For whoever will call upon the name of the Lord will be saved.’ How then shall they call upon Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings of good things!’"

We as Christians do not need to go out and share our faith weekly temporarily, we all need to make a commitment to do it weekly the rest of our lives (Luke 14:15-24).  Why?  There are several reasons why we need to go out and share the Gospel the rest of our lives:  One, to educate and bring society back to a Biblical consciousness and to Jesus as Savior, Lord, and King of America, not the government (see 1 Samuel Chapter 8).  Second, because even Christians need to be constantly reminded about what the Bible teaches on any subject at any given time and encouraged to repent and return to Jesus and daily read God's Word and get involved in the battle of the soul's of men.  In fact, this is the main reason why America is where it is at today:  because there is a famine of the knowledge of God's word because Christians would rather chase the world then use there free time and resources to reach men with the Gospel.  They would rather see America go down in flames and millions of people go to an eternal hell then walk across the street to share Jesus love and forgiveness with Americans.  It is the Church's fault that America has come to the place it is.  Brothers and Sisters, we are in a spiritual battle and no one can afford to stand on the side lines.  We all must do our part or lose our nation to godless fascist socialism, communism and Marxism.  These, in fact, are all counterfeits of the Gospel, they are a Gospel without God, Christ and the Bible.  Russia pursued this Christless Gospel and destroyed their country and its economy and killed more than 70 million of their own countrymen trying to enforce it. The same will happen in America if those in America who claim to be followers of Jesus Christ do not start serving Christ and spreading God's Word to every man and woman in America.  America now is the mission field that needs to be evangelized.  Paul wrote about those Christians who were not involving themselves in the battle of the souls of men:

Philippians 3:18-20 "For many walk of whom I often told you, and now tell you even weeping, that they are enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose god is their appetite, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their minds on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ."

Paul taught that a Christian's goal is not this world, not this life, but that he or she is a citizen of Heaven!

Colossians 3:1-3 "If then you have been raised up with Christ, keep seeking the things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. For you have died and your life is hidden with Christ in God."

Matthew 6:19-21 "Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

God says be Heavenly minded and lay up your treasures in Heaven, not Earthly minded.

Brothers and Sisters, you can no longer stand on the side line, you must get involved in the battle or prepare yourself to suffer persecution and worse as a Christian.  We now have a godless government and they are moving swiftly to take your freedoms away and make sure you have no say in life and politics or anything else.  You no longer have a choice to be passive and non-involved.  Why are not millions of Christians in the streets shouting "Jesus is Lord & King!"  "Jesus is Lord & King!". . .  Why is there not a greater demonstration here than we currently see in Iran?

Paul wrote in:

Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith as it is written, ‘But the righteous man shall live by faith.’"

It is not enough for people to just hear the Gospel to come to Christ.  Men and women are steeped with sin and guilt and, therefore, even if they hear the gospel through a TV show or even in Church over and over, they feel they are not worthy to be saved.  How are they going to be convinced otherwise?  When you and I go out and share with them one-on-one Jesus' love and forgiveness.  At first they do not have the courage to turn to Christ because of guilt and sin.  However, as you share your testimony with them and encourage them that if they too turn to Jesus that yes He will forgive and cleanse them with His blood just as He did you, suddenly that person has the faith and courage, through your faith and courage, to believe and turn to Jesus and receive Him as their Savior and Lord and be saved.  As Paul stated "From Faith to Faith".

What does Jesus want you to do?  You might say "But I just cannot go out and share my faith with total strangers.  I am afraid."  The first step to sharing the Gospel is submitting Yourself to the Gift of Evangelism so you can learn how to lovingly present the Gospel to men, how to lead them into saving faith in Jesus Christ through prayer, and then how to disciple them so that they will succeed in their new walk with Jesus.

What is the Gift of Evangelism?  Paul wrote in,

Ephesians 4:11-12 "And He gave some as. . . evangelists for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ"

Brothers and sisters, we can win this battle, fix our Constitution, and bring America back to God, but only if all of us get involved in the battle.  If we do not get involved in the battle, America WILL be destroyed.  Heed this warning of God in Jeremiah 48:10,

Jeremiah 48:10 "Cursed is he who does Yehovah’s work negligently (hYmr (ramiah) carlessly, inattentively), and cursed is he who restrains his sword from blood."

America is under a curse and will remain so until American Christians repent of their idolatry and come back to Jesus and get back involved in the battle of the soul's of men with there free time.  Please! brothers and sister, please!  Please get involved in the battle by using your free time to share Jesus love and forgiveness with others.  It is the only hope that America has and is the only thing which will bring America back to God.  None of us can afford to do otherwise.

For a Nation to Trust in God is for it to trust in His Word the Bible:

John17:17 "Sanctify them in the truth, Your word is truth."

Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of Yehovah is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding."

Second, we need to, not do away with the original constitution as it stands, but fix the inadequacies that are in it:  declare freedom of religion only within the Christian faith and the Bible as the basis for judging the rightness and wrongness of the laws we have on the books;  that only members, faithful attendants of a church can vote and run for office; term limits for all politicians, judges, especially the Supreme court Judges, and public servants.  They are there to protect the constitution and our borders through a more than adequate military, not to be career politicians and thus favor special interest groups in order to get reelected.

The Bible states in Psalm 11:3 "If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?"  We need to return not to our founding fathers, but to the model of the colonies and put Jesus not only back on the throne of our lives individually, but also in our homes, in our city governments, in our State governments, and especially within our federal government.  Anything else is idolatry.  Until we do that, things will not get better because we are then only exchanging one bad politician for another.  We are in confusion and chaos in America because everyone is doing what is right in their own eyes, not what is right in God's eyes, and now those who think they know better than you are forcing themselves on America and ruling out of the imaginations of their own heart, not out of the pages of the Bible and the leading of God's Holy Spirit.  The Bible states:

Isaiah 30:1 "‘Woe to the rebellious children,’ declares Yehovah, ‘who execute a plan, but not Mine, and make an alliance, but not of My Spirit, in order to add sin to sin.’"

What is the outcome of self-rule instead of King Jesus' Rule?  God speaking through Isaiah the Prophet warns in Isaiah 30:12-14,

Jesus said John 6:63  "It is the Spirit who creates-life, the flesh profits nothing."

There is no freedom, no liberty where God's Holy Spirit does not reign.  America's answer is returning to the God of their Fathers:  the Bible as the basis for our law and Jesus as our only Savior & King, not the government.  Anything else is Idolatry.  Only Jesus is King, only Jesus is Savior.  Only Jesus can save us, but only when He is on the throne.  Jesus said:
